AuthImage

AuthImage is a WordPress plugin which will require a potential commentator to enter a security code (shown in graphics) before submitting the comment. It should be able to stop those spambots to flood your blog.

Unfortunate for me (and those who like to try the most updated version of every software), AuthImage seems not to be able to work in WordPress 1.5 beta. I guess I have to wait till some instructions come up (or learn PHP myself to solve the problem). If you are still using WordPress 1.2.2, go ahead with AuthImage and stop those spammers.

    In Spam Karma, look for this option:
    "If comment looks ambiguous, use a Captcha as a backup check:"

    Captcha means "AuthImage".

    Jansen, 多到死哇~~ 早陣子係comment spam, 這兩天是trackback spam, 我剛於一小時內接到30個spam~ -_-
    不過呢, 頭先o向alan 呢度留言, 仲以為佢未用到, submit 完, 過o左陣先知有個windows 出現, 要打密碼, 某程度上都幾不便, 唔知裝唔裝好... -_-

    Jan, there're a lot of spams recently. I got 69 comments held for moderation last night, and they are all spams :roll:

    Deki, you can try Spam Karma suggested by Cloudless (I used that too), but it may sometimes block real comments -- see our previous discussion.

    Probably because we do not have FreeType, but AuthImage provides an alternative. I only need some instructions to make it work in WordPress 1.5 ...

    I got 300 spam a day, and must do something to stop it... :evil:
    'AuthImage' is a secure method, but it is too truoble for leaving message ...

    刚看桑葚的blog上提到Qiantu的“对付垃圾留言两招”，觉得挺有用的，转载如下：刚才看到阿云问我关于垃圾留言的问题，我觉得我现在使用的这套方案效果很好，写出来与大家分享一下撒。　　
    首先是装一个由WordPress的开发者提供的插件，详细点击这里，把文件下载下来，解压上传到plugins目录下，然后到后台激活即可，无须修改任何程序。　　
    其次是把wp-comments-post.php这个文件改名，把它改成任意的名字，然后再查找wp-comments.php这个文件里的wp- comments-post.php，把它改成你刚才所改的名字就可以了。这招是从MT那里学来的，但是对于WordPress同样有效。　　
    经过这两步操作之后，基本上用机器人自动发布的垃圾留言是可以对付的了，很简单实用吧！不过道高一尺，魔高一丈，对于那些勤劳的手工垃圾留言者，即使大罗天仙也是无能为力的了。不过这2天，倒是没有垃圾留言来找我。等再有时，试试。
