- incorporating my photoblog -- a little bit troublesome, but can be finished
- permalink structure -- I am now forced to have the /index.php/ in the permalink since I am not able to add .htaccess file without making a 403 error in reading the index.php. Perhaps something with the mod_rewrite feature. I may have to switch to another hosting company to solve this problem
- RSS feed -- same problem with the mod_rewrite feature
- finding a great CSS template to steal. I have the present Plain Blue style from the WordPress CSS Style Competition
Besides changing the publishing system, I also merged my "movie notes" blog into the main blog and change the character encoding to UTF-8.
Welcome to the world of free software!
ReplyDeleteThx  and I am looking for a really cool-looking css, any suggestion :?:
ReplyDeleteJust pick a random color, random font and random font size you like, and boom, a new site born!
ReplyDeleteAnyway did you mention convert encoding to UTF8, what actually you did? My site frequently have character problem related to big5, wish to use UTF8 instead.
I use the stupidest  method to convert the encoding:
ReplyDelete1. use movabletype to export the whole blog with Big-5
2. import the Big-5 blog using UTF-8 encoding
3. copy and paste the readable Big-5 export over the strange-looking UTF-8 output.
Since I have around 200 posts only and many of them are in English, I do not need to do much "conversion" myself
I like the layout of your blog (though I prefer a 2-column for my own). My design sucks and I am lousy at matching colours, etc
捉到老鼠的就是好貓,我也把網站轉了UTF8啦~!
ReplyDeleteWhat method did you use?
ReplyDeletei think these people may want to meet u:

我的方法是在phpmysql中export全個database成為一個sql文字檔(當然也另有備份)。接著用Notepad開這個文字檔,用Notepad的轉碼功能Save As做UTF-8 Encoding,並將template的big5東西也改回UTF-8,這就完成啦!全過程不用十分鐘。
ReplyDeleteJansen -- perhaps a nice way of promotion
ReplyDeletesiuying -- I am not familiar with MySQL, I only know how to export to sql file ...
yeah. try tell them about your story
